Handmade in my Shepherd’s Hut Bakery in Leicestershire, The Midlands, England.

Creative cakes, cupcakes, brownies, sweet treats & yummy gifts for all occasions.

Made with fresh high quality ingredients, free range eggs, fairtrade chocolate and sugar, fine flour and real butter. Always seeking out sustainable palm oil options and local suppliers for lower carbon footprint.

Bakerlu has over a decade of experience in decorating delicious bespoke cakes, including tiered, shaped & regular cakes & decorating with detailed figurines, flowers & inscriptions. 

About Lu

After completing her bakery diploma at Leicester College & experience with The Fabulous Baker Brothers (as seen on TV), Lu spent 5 years in London creating bespoke cakes for London’s top bakeries - The Hummingbird Bakery & Konditor. Read more about these experiences on the blog - A Baker’s Story

Dreaming of the country life, Lu moved back to Leicester in 2017 to create Bakerlu & hasn’t looked back.

Most of all, she has enjoyed bringing joy to so many different families, couples & friends for so many special occasions & is looking forward to dreaming up some special bakes for you.

Hi, I’m Lu - here’s a few fun facts about me!

I travelled around Europe & Canada in my youth inspiring the beginning of the bakery quest.
🍛I love curry, marshmallows and jalebis.
🧁I hate Red Velvet cake with a passion.
👩🏻‍🎓I have a diploma in Art & Design and one in Bakery which means I am Lucy Ward Dip Dip.
🎭ILove to act and have been in lots of amateur dramatics shows and Murder Mysteries in France.
💧My favourite things I like to do for fun are rowing, swimming, camping, dancing, going to shows, going to water parks, bouncy castle parks and trampoline parks.
🤫 I realistically spend more time doing my guilty pleasures of watching birds, walking and gardening.
